I'd rather sell this to one of you guys than on Craigslist, make me an offer.

Unused, came with a Coleman spotlight I bought off CL and replaced the connector with a cigarette lighter plug. Paypal, check, cash, money order, whatever.

Hi Dave,

I could use a two pole connector to be used as a disconnect when removing the outboard. Does the unit that you are offering have a rating to cover the amperage of a Tohatsu electric start motor?

Val,
I couldn't say, but I use a nearly identical one from Davis to connect to the alternator to charge the battery, but we don't have electric start (yet). Same for our solar charger as well. If you're talking about starting current, I'm not so sure if it could handle it or not. I'd guess that you could get a 12 gauge wire into the connector, but I'm not sure how large of wire you need for starting current. If it's for starting, I'd err on the side of caution and say no, seems like you'd want 6 or 8 gauge minimum for starting current. It'll definitely work for charging current though.

Is the plug keyed so you cannot reverse the connections? From the picture, it doesn't appear so. If so, reverse polarity for a light matters little.

But for a DC motor (engine starter), polarity matters quite a bit - as the starter will crank the wrong way.

If the engine also has an alternator, reversing the leads will cause a short that can burn out the rectifier diodes (and possibly the regulator).

Bruce,
Good points, and yes it is polarity protected. If you look closely, you can see that the pins are different diameters and lengths and the holes are recessed so you can't accidentally make connection by trying to push it in the wrong way.
