I joined tohe Association, I figured it was th eleast I could do for all the info I've gotten here. Now I have a coupla questions...
When I joined I got a new member name/password. Can i make it the same as the ones I use on the boards, or do I have to remember both for each spot?
Does the Association offer anything in the Toronto area as far as workshops, swap meets, rig tuning, discounts, member services, etc. or is membership mostly about supporting the forums and getting the mainsheet?
And finally, the paypal thing billed me at $22 - isn't that the US rate? I don't want to be ripping you guys off or anything.
Right now you have to remember both usernames and passes. The forum board doesn't integrate all that well (read at all without major modification) with the active directory used for servers (i.e. the members area security).
Right now there isn't much available for Canadian members. If you can a BoatCAN (boat us equivalent) you might inquire with them as to how to set up something similar to what we have for Boat US. The officers are always looking for volunteers for things.
22 bucks is the US rate - looks like the paypal page was never change to denote canadian membership rates.
Thats true Derek, (It worked in my favour buying the boat), but Shipping the mag from down there to up here still costs more, I just wanted to be sure the guys behind the curtain were aware.
