I'm going to order a simrad tp10 tiller pilot and am wondering if anyone has installed one of these and if there's extensions or other parts and pieces I need to order along with. Thanks

Although I don't have a TP10 (I have the Raymarine unit), they're roughly the same with a simliar mounting options. Having looked over the TP10's installation manual, it appears you are going to require some sort of additional mounting hardware depending on your personal preferences. I chose a cantilever over a pedastal mount for my installation because this allowed my cockpit cushions to slide under the autopilot. I also installed the autopilot on the opposite side of the cockpit as the outboard so access to the outboard wouldn't be hindered. I installed the connector in the coaming box to keep it out of the weather.
On a C22 Forum I belong to one of the members had a TP10 and it kept stripping the gears out. He was "lucky" enough to live near the factory so he could take it back and get it rebuilt with same day service. He finally got tired of the drive and made a deal with them to upgrade to a TP20 for a minimal cost. Hasn't had any more problems since he upgraded.

Also, Frank - if you've looked at Don's video, you will have to rethink your opinion re: onboard videos. That was exciting.
Thanks for the feedback guys. I considered the tp22 but it's almost twice as expensive!! The 22 is also able to interface with a GPS and or wind/speed gauges. I guess I need to bite the bullet and get the 22, definitely don't want something that's going to strip gears.
