Just read through our Mainsheet and there isn't any news of the 25's/250's except in the tech area. What is the story?

I was wondering the same thing as I scanned though it. I guess no articles were submitted?
BTW, Did you notice the snow on the boat in Alaska? Twice as high as the top lifeline!!

My bad re a Tech article on C250s. I got hold of the publisher too late in the process and he asked me to hold off until the May edition. My apologies to the C250 folks.

As the mainsheet editor, it is my responsibility to work to obtain, organize, and complete our submissions for the magazine. I have to apologize, our association's submissions didn't make it to this magazine in time. We complete submissions via website and there was a website outage which pushed the deadline back and my calendar task reminder didn't "remind" me after I reset it so I completely forgot and neglected to add in time. When I did reach out to the general editor for Mainsheet, I was advised it was already at/being sent to print. This was an oversight on my part related to the two technology issues. Our Commodore is working to have our submissions added to Telltale. I will still send in the submissions for the next upcoming magazine however.

I would like to help too. Glad that it was just a glitch. Our internet carrier was out for the state of CA and had us locals talking on the land line. Bryan do we send ideas and a picture to you or just keep doing our thing in the Forum.

The Catalina 25 Tech Editor Position is open and it would be great if someone would step up. I did it for several years and am now filling in but would really like to see somene else step up.

Confessing I haven't paid this year's dues, I'd like to challenge the whole Mainsheet concept. I haven't paid my dues in part because I find the Mainsheet superfluous. Much of the information in the magazine, it seems to me, has already appeared in some form on this website. I couldn't care less about Tech Tips for a Catalina Morgan 440 or a C16.5. Tales of the C38 rendezvous are irrelevant for me. I guess Catalina has an interest in supporting the magazine in the hopes we'll be seduced by stories from owners of bigger boats, but it's just not worth all the dead trees to me.

I would gladly plunk down $ 20 or so per year simply to support the website, but the magazine is pretty useless for me. I suppose it's heresy, but why not put our energies (and money) into the website, and save the paper (and money)?

Brooke, we've discussed that possibility - the last time was recently. The consensus was that there is enough interest in the Mainsheet to keep it. The magazine relies on each association for their input. Our section is not always so sparse.

Personally, I find cruising articles about C25s and 22s and 38s and 42s entertaining, and get interesting ideas and tech tips from all the associations. If you keep them over a period of years, they make a good resource for maintenance and repairs.

To each his own, Steve! But I'll respectfully decline a subscription. Maybe I'll send ten dollars for the web page. Or buy that PS 31 Vicki fell in love with in Annapolis.

I'll side with Steve. I find the destination articles interesting, and it should be universal. Put-In-Bay has been a curiosity for me, even though I would not attempt to cruise to the far end of the lake from here in a C25. Have traveled to other featured destinations(by car or plane)and dreamed what it would be like to have my boat there.

It'll be my pleasure to submit our "Synopsis & Conclusion", article of our "Living on board full time and going South", year-long round the continent trip which includes costing, hight lights and lots of practical information.
