I know Defender has a sale but I found a great deal on a Mustang PDF with auto hydrostatic inflation at Sailnet. They are $60 less then Defender who I normally shop from. Has anyone had any bad experiences from Sailnet?

Only that they won't stop sending me emails and push my in box over the limit... Seriously though I haven't bought anything there.

A very unstable company a couple of years ago, I don't know anyone who has gone back to them. They were bought by another online company when it all blew up and both companies now do business under the respective names but I think it is actually the new company DBA both. It is probably fine now as they have not been in the news since the angel bought them.

This thread keeps popping up... NO! is the operative word here.... NEVER! i bought an anchor rode to chain premade 200 foot with 30 feet of chain set up from them before they went out and they only sent the chain! Try explaining that to your credit card company! I went round and round for months. I don't care who owns them. I don't care if they are going to give every sailor $200 in free merchandise - I still wouldn't have anything to do with them. PERIOD!

Strike them from my list. The first price you see is not the same once you put it in your shopping cart. They showed a PFD for $201 but when I went to buy it, the price in my cart for $269. I tried this for several other items and they were all significantly higher. I will stay with Defender. Stay away from Sailnet!

Odd, I bought my autopilot from them a few years ago. Got a good price and service. They even helped with mounting hardware. You guys tick them off or something?

<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">That sounds like the same thing that West Marine does. They show a product on sale at a special price, but, when you buy it, you have to type in a special sale code. If you don't, then you pay the regular price for it. It's too bad, but I guess we unwary consumers have to learn all the tricks of the game.

Al, the only one who is ticked off are those who have gotten poor service from them mentioned in this forum.
I saw a price on their site, went to buy and it the price was $60 higher. No one is answering why at Sailnet. I will take my business elsewhere. I don't care for bait and switch methods.

FWIW, I got a Sospenders brand auto-inflate PFD -- complete with harness-- from Defender for $169. That was before their big sale last weekend.

Prior to their collapse a few years back, I was a SailNet fan and ordered quite a bit from them. Like Al, I got a great deal on an autopilot, and if I remember correctly, it was well over two hundred dollars cheaper than WM and they threw in the remote for free. Another time I was looking for nylon sail slugs with stainless bails. WM had them for about $3.50 a piece. I bought the same ones at SailNet for $1.25 each.

With that said, I haven't purchased from them since the implosion due to the customer service complaints that were trickling in.
