I just wanted to drop in to say hi. Im very glad to see the forum alive and well. I'm still sailing a C25 however some things have changed. since fuel has become so expensive it has become less expensive to leave the boat in indoor storage near Neebish Island rather than bring it home to Ohio for the winter. I used to spend lots of winter time tinkering but with Nin Bimash II so far away I have to dream. I'll be going up Memorial weekend to open up the cottages and will put her in the water about the third week of June. I'll have time to sail the North Channel. If any of you plan on visiting the NC this summer please be in touch with me. I would love to share an anchorage.
fair winds
John Vining Just realized that my tag still says tech editor a job I havn't had for nearly a year. I returned from last summer's sail to find I had two new science courses to teach, and had to drop a few things in order to stay prepared.

Welcome back John! Most of the old group is still hanging around here, and a lot of new people as well. Sorry you had to work so hard this winter, but it's time to go sailing again!
Great to hear from you again. An NC sail sounds great but I am now working full time and don't have the same free time I used to have. Care to sail the Keweenaw again? Maybe we can entice you with some show tickets for the Rozsa Center again. A weekender, maybe in July or late June, would be nice don't you think?
Hey Al, would you like a crew? I don't think I could drag NinBimash II across the UP I won't have my truck. just a motorcycle. 55 mpg beats 8 if you know what I mean. It's nice to have someone else store and launch the boat. saves a lot on gas. trying a new strategy in this land of expensive fuel.
Hope you are well all the best to Mary.
BTW 25ers the Keewenaw is a wonderful cruising area I enjoyed the previous trip with Al as guide.
Absolutely on my boat. Maybe a weekender out to the Huron Islands or around the Keweenaw. Or we could spend one day day sailing and a day racing. Let me know.
That group you saw at the Rozsa the last time you were here, in which your opera friends played, will be playing in the last week of June. I might even sacrifice and go with you if you want to attend the performance. I know Mary and her sister Judy would like to go.
Anyone else interested in experiencing some really great Lake Superior sailing, you're welcome to join us in Houghton Michigan. I'd be glad to take you out.
