A simpler way to post a photo, link, etc. is to change the "Format Mode" from "Basic" to "Prompt" (top left of the of the message box). Then you can simply click on the insert image icon and just paste in the URL to your image into the dialog box that'll pop up. It really makes inserting links nice because you can simply highlight a word, then click on the insert link icon, and just paste in the URL into the dialog box. No spaces in links to worry about.
True, in the regular posting page. In the Profile page, where you set up your signature, you have to type the IMG tags. (I guess you could do it in a reply, and then cut and paste it into the signature.)
You're getting there! Here's what my signature text looks like, with some spaces added inside the square brackets to fake out the system--meaning, don't do that.
