Finally after much measuring, remeasuring, sanding, constructing, cleaning, and installing, I think we are ready. I have been delayed by weather, illness, vacation, and yard work, but Antares is ready to sail. I have one more project (queen size bed in the cabin), but I have my design and just need to buy the wood. Anyway, here are the pics of what we have done.

1. Small bottle stove for galley. (Yes, we are going to be very careful on this one. When not in use, the bottles will be stored in the fuel locker.)

2. Shortened and rehung dining table. Afterall, it's just me and the Admiral 99% of the time. And I am tired of lugging it into and out of the brackets. (Probably the poorest design of anything on the old models.)

3. Refinished handrails. I really really don't want to sand these again.

4. Refinished rudder and new tiller. Next time it will be a new one.

5. And lastly a pendant for our furler. Only 4 3/4" long, but it did the trick. No more halyard wrap and having to go forward to fix. YAY

Now we sail....

In my opinion 75% of the earth is water for a reason. That's why I sail.

Al, the ice box was changed by the previous owner so I can't take any credit for it. There is a tech tips article on the change. It is a 12v fan that keeps the ice cooler than just a plain icebox.

Here is the location of the Tech Tip on the cooler.

Sale price less three years depreciation at $1,500 per year plus unskilled labor at $10 per hour times minimal number of hours committed due to excellent transfer condition...hmmm, maybe, just maybe.

Nice work, Mike! About time you changed the name to officiate your claim. ;-)

Mike,

Nice work. Your boat looks great. I find the color of the boat's cushions appealing.
