Bob, I see she is still for sale. Hard to believe. My mouth is drooling. I love the lift and is your home on the water there? Have you considered selling house w/ the boat? It looks so beautiful and peaceful and to live that close to the water and have my boat right there. I would give my eye teeth, as they say. Looks like my idea of heaven. Steve A
yeh...still for sale....I only just now started listing it in places other than this forum. I guess I wasn't really trying too hard before... I've had many beautiful trips on her and I still enjoy sailing, I just miss being able to visit all the neat spots around here without investing a whole day. (or weekend if I go to Marco Island or Sanibel). For the most part, she is just sitting on the lift, sort of on ice. It was also a bad move buying a sailboat at the same time I'm starting a new business. It is a nice location.A little over 1 mile and no bridges to the gulf. I've lived here for 23 years. It can get a little shallow out of the channel (or in it at a low low) so thats why I bought the W/B. Thanks for the reply. Whats your sailing situation out there in California? Bob Jack
I've been trying to convince my brother, in Naples, that he NEEDS this sailboat. If for no other reason than for me to sail in January/February. No luck yet but, I'll keep trying.
Thanks for the good thoughts. The sailing is very nice here ( especially in the winter..crisp and clear..low humidity) Sometimes we cap off the sail, anchored off Keywadin Island, with a chillingly refreshing dip in the gulf followed by a warm fresh water "Sun Shower". A cold Miller Lite as we blow home rounds out the day. Since what I just described takes the better part of a day.... and I had the questionable judgement to open up a brand new retail business during a recession, the time is just not there. Hence, my need for a cruising power boat. I have a friend , with a condo in Port Clinton near Putin Bay...who just bought a Catalina 22..is that anywhere near Bay Village? Bob
About an hour and a half west. My boat's in Sandusky Bay which is just 30 minutes or so (driving) east of Port Clinton. It's a full day sail to Put-in-Bay and back for me.
