When I try to access a topic on the 250 Forum, I get this:

HTTP/1.1 500 Server Error

What's wrong with your server and when will the problem be corrected?

Thank you.

Ditto. Hardly had any access over the weekend. This has happened a few times over the last year. Seems to always be a weekend problem. Any indication from the web host as to the issues? Do we spend a lot of money with this host?

I see server errors a lot too, particularly on, but not limited to, Sunday. I'm guessing that either the web service provider is performing maintenance, or the hardware is under-powered and can't handle the load. It would be nice to have this issue addressed so it is either fixed if it is a hardware problem, or maintenance is moved to a low-usage time.

there's a good chance that the host might have some sort of routine maintenance going on. Paul should check with them to confirm. Many times this type of work can be performed on off hours.

Ideally, this should be running on a SQL database and not what it is on currently. When this was set up many moons ago I'm not sure anyone really realized the implications of putting a DB on a regular server. Usually database maintenance windows are fewer and farther apart than regualr server patching. They are also during off hours. We had talked about that a few times while I was on the board but migrating a database requires a decent volunteer effort.

Additionally - Paul - you should look into compacting the current database and archiving some of the old stuff. I used to keep about a years worth.
