I plan to make the 9:40 AM EDT drawbridge in Mystic tomorrow (7/16) heading for Block Island... You can watch me waiting for the bridge and passing through live on the Mystic Webcams.

The Mystic River North cam looks out at where I'm coming from, and the Drawbridge cam shows the bridge opening and traffic moving through. Click on the Start Control button, and then you can pan and zoom the camera yourself (for a limited period). If somebody else is using it, you'll be in line.

If I see the drawbridge camera moving, I'll wave.

Now on Eastern 27 Sarge (but still sailing) and posting as "Stinkpotter".

I'll wave at the drawbridge camera--it's on the corner of a favorite restaurant there--I'll be sorta hidden under the hardtop as I go by. I don't know exactly where the other cameras are. Should be 9:40--if not, then 10:40.

I'm home... Nice couple of days at Block... I was on the cell with my daughter in Colorado as I went through the bridge--she was watching, too.

I go by those cameras frequently Tues-Thurs, but rarely on weekends (long story)... Openings are hourly at the 40-minute mark, and I'm sometimes going south at 2:40 and north at 4:40 or 5:40. But you'll see some much cooler boats than mine, including the schooners Argia (public day-sails) and Mystic (chartered trips). Both dock within view of the North camera ("Schooner Warf").

Next Th-Fr, 7/25-26, many boats will be coming in for the Antique and Classic Boat Rendevous at Mystic Seaport--there should be a good show at the bridge each day.

I doubt I'll be around the bridge tomorrow (7/25), but many antique boats will be passing by northbound (toward the Drawbridge camera) on the 40-minute marks, going to the Mystic Antique and Classic Boat Rendevous this weekend. Sunday noon or so is the parade of boats back down the river. Should be some beauties. Sarge might be in view of the North camera early afternoon as I snoop around the show.
