My gib is shot. I have a CDI roller furler for my 1981 Capri 25. Does anyone have a roller furling genoa for sale, or really good hanked on one that could be cut and used to make furling sail. Thank you. RonE
I have just removed my 135 from my CDI roller furler on my 1982 Capri 25. I have it bagged up and ready to go for $295.00. The sail is in great shape but is more than I can make use of on Galveston Bay. The luff is 29'9", foot 13'6" and leech is 28'8". It's a deck sweepin so and so. Now that its in the bag, I can't remember for sure, but I think its an Ullman sail. Let me know if you're interested. Joe Mireur
Thanks for the offer. I was looking for a slightly bigger foresail. I am trying to replace my 150 furling gib. Also my budget does not allow for your price although I am sure it is worth it. If you would consider less, I would still be interested as a back up sail. I was thinking about $150. Let me know. Thanks again. RonE
Do you know if your sail would work without modification on my '89 SR/WK? I'm hoping to get a CDI Furler this fall. I live in Missouri City and keep my boat in Kemah.
The luff of this sail is 29'9" or 29.75 feet. The #6 tape is a little less than that. I think it might fit a tall rig with a forestay that has a nominal* length of 31' 10". The reason is it there has to be room below the tack for the furling unit, and above the head for the top end of the extrusion that holds the tape. So 31'10" would allow 2' 1" to fit that stuff in. I don't know if it would fit. Its a big sail made for racing. I think it used to ride one of those "tuff luff" type extrusions when my boat was raced. The tuff luff was not included in the sale.
I heartily recommend the CDI furler. Its simple and you know thats better!
