Can some one help me find a source for the stove on my 1995 250? I have bought the typical green coleman propane bottle and it does not fit. Anybody else have thise problem?
Big, I have seen this topic come up before. Unfortunately, I have newer model using propane and yours sounds like butane so I cant help. But if you do a search from the right side on top, you will find a fix. I have seen other discuss this on c25 forum. Steve A
Chances are it's a butane stove and not propane. I tore mine out about the second week of ownership. Never trusted the installation of the butane cannister.
I did search the topics. The problem I have is that the coleman bottle was too big for the threaded end. I keep hearing about the butane bottles so I bought one at Home depot (the kind that you can attach a torch head) and that didnt fit either as it is the same size as the coleman bottles. So what next?? Dan
I'm positive you have the butane installation if it is the original installation. When I get a minute I'll see if that mess is still in my cellar. It should be near the original table which I discarded also. My C 250 is a 1995 S/N 089. You may have to go to a camping store to get the correct cannister.I believe Arlyn Stewart had a post a few years back about converting the butane to a propane stove.
Dan, I found the original butane canister attachment, the canister does not screw on, it is locked on by a lever that says lock - unlock.I never trusted the lock feature, thus removed the assembly.
Bigfoot, what you're looking for is basically the same fitting you would use with a camp stove. I have a 95 also. The stove is the same as the newer boats. The 95's were rigged to use a different gas. You'll need the part that fits on the green bottle and a regulator. It's the same regulator that you use on a barbecue grill. Try the camping places like Bass Pro and Academy. Maybe even Wal Mart. You can piece and splice it together. There's not that much pressure in the bottles and when you're done, you just unscrew the bottle and put it someplace without an explosion hazard. There is an artice on this site somewhere posted by Arlyn about it. I found some of my parts at Academy Sports on the campstove isle and the regulator came from Lowes.
I found the problem. My stove does indeed use the aerosol sized cans of fule, but the PO had disconnected the rectangular housing that the fuel gets plugged in and had buried it under some stuff. I only saw a hose sticking out from the "stuff" and assumed it was the connector for the fuel cannister. It is acutally supposed to be plugged in to the box that is buried under the stuff. Thanx for the help. Now to wonder why the fuel line was disconnected. ( leak, forgot to plug it in, no reason??) dan
