I've noticed in several pictures in this forum, that there is a section of teak trim that runs the length of the cabin up where the bulkheads meet the overhead. I have the trim on the port side of my cabin but am missing the opposite trim on the galley side. It looks like there never was any trim on that side. I've tried to contact Catalina Yachts to see where I can find the source for the teak, but they have not responded to my inquiry.
Maybe a forum member can direct me a source where I can match the trim. I also like the simulated teak and holly deck in the new C-250 mark II. Maybe that will be available as a mod at some later date.
H&L Marine provides/provided most of the teak for Catalina. My boat's not close by so I can't measure, but I'm sure it's one of these (from the H&L catalog):
It's a common item, so you shouldn't have trouble finding it in a marine supplies store.
I got a 4x8 sheet of (wood) teak and holly from H&L that I'm going to install sometime. I'll post pics and pitfalls when I do.
I have the measurements now. All I need now is a source. An inter net search has not located a dealer who carries these battens in the length required. Evidently H&L does not operate their own web site. The piece I need would be the 2004-T model in a length of 111 inches.
I just spoke with H&L at 323-636-1718. They have the piece in stock and they can ship it to me. The strip will cost 26.64 and the shipping is about the same. They are sending a catalog so I might order a few more things to justify the shipping costs.
Yeah, the UPS charge takes the fun out of it! That's why I thought if you could find it someplace that buys in quantity, you could save on the shipping charge.
H&L is definitely "old school"--for better or worse. They tried a website once, but never really put an effort into it and apparently shut it down. But they've got tons of teak and will make anything you want-for a hefty price, of course.
