This weekend I visited a nearby marina in Westbrook CT and noticed a boat with a set of steps running up the sail track. They are made of fabric, probably nylon, with some kind of rigid "stays" built in to make the foot loops remain open.
The steps would allow the user to climb up to the spreaders, so you could inspect and maintain the streaders, replace the bow light, add a block for a flag, etc. I'd imagine you could probably extend the steps even farther up the mast than the spreaders.
Does anybody know what this gizmo might be called, or where you can purchase one of them? I'd like to get up the mast somehow to do some basic maintenance, and I don't want to hazard a ladder or bosun's chair.
I appreciate it.

I used the Mast Mate to replace the windex on top of the mast while still in the slip. It took about 15 start to finish. Just remember to use the safety belt and snug up all your mooring lines good and tight.

Dave - I thought about using a 15 foot ladder to get up to the spreaders. I thought better of it, as there are just too many degrees of freedom using a ladder -- I definitely do not want to take a swan dive off the boat.
So the mast mate eliminates the movement of the ladder. And you have the strap holding you in place.
