I'm posting this in the General Sailing forum as not many folks are reading the Assoc Biz forum yet.

The October minutes of the Officers meeting are now online in the Assn. Members area. Just login to that area and it's the top link.

And now for something new:

The officers voted to open the November meeting to Officers, Staff and the general membership. However, in the past we have paid for the conference call ability, the cost was dependant upon the number of callers and the time on call.

We have been experimenting with using [url="http://www.skype.com"]Skype[/url] and it has worked quite well.

There is one limitation, a max of 24 callers, we will see if that is a real issue.

If you would like to participate in the conference call on Thursday November 13th. at 6pm PST then please read on..

In order to participate, you must be an Association member, have skype installed on your PC, have a mic or headset to talk into and be available during the conference call.

Here are the baby steps:

a) Obtain a Skype Account (visit the link to Skype above)
b) Send me and email with your Skype ID and your full name (use the forum email system to send that info to me, just click on my profile link at left.)
c) I'll send you confirmation that you have been added to the contacts list and we could run a quick test to make sure you are all setup.

On the evening of the conference, I'll initiate a conference call, call in the officers and the staff and then those Assoc. members that have requested on a first come first sever basis.

We hope that this will reduce the cost of the monthly conferences (to zero) and facilitate a more open Association.

Although we have done some testing between officers already, we would like to run a few more tests prior to the actual November confernce call.
So if you would like to participate, then proceed thru steps a),b) and c) above so that I can inform you of our next test date.

The November meeting will be Nov. 13 at 6 PM PST. <b>All Officers and staff must attend (you need Skype).</b>

We are trying something new. The meeting will be open to ANY member who wants to attend. Just like a meeting at your yacht club. You need Skype.

If you want to attend and are interested in this option, please send me a private email.

I encourage all members to read last month's meeting minutes as well. Almost all the issues brought up during the election were addressed.
