Matt - that's interesting. I left Canada in 1978 and at that time a 1/5th of bourbon (or rye) was around $20.00 retail. I was told that it cost the the distiller about $1.00 to manufacture, they made 80 cents profit and the rest went to Ottawa. I hate to think how much a 1/5th costs now...(BTW - if any of y'all are in Canada - try some Park Lane whiskey (rye) I think it's made by Corby's and it makes Crown Royal taste like rotgut <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> (AND the Canadians keep it all to themselves - none is exported.)
