Just talked to my friend Chris who's doing some electrical work on his boat today. I asked him how our boat was doing since he's only about a hundred yards away in his marina. He said it had been a flush decked boat for most of the week, but the snow was sluffing off now. I'm glad he can check for me, it's normally a 40 minute drive to get there, today it'd probably be more like two hours each way.

I'm supposed to drive to my nephew's house this afternoon, about 60 miles away, but we've got more than 20" of snow on the ground here, still snowing, which is incredibly rare here in the Seattle area. The road crews are all but overwhelmed, the freeways are a mess, and the crazy people w/o chains are out in force to judge from the news reports. I've got two big hills to either go down or climb in both directions, plus it's supposed to start to turn to rain this afternoon, which will freeze (it's 28 degrees on our front porch).

I'm inclined for us to stay at home & eat all of Rita's freshly baked buns for ourselves.
