I know this subject has been discussed to death, but still I'm left more confused than usual. Reading posts, web surfing and asking questions haven't helped. Is it possible to get a simple list of sail sizes for a Capri 25?
For example:

Main
luff= ?
leech= ?
foot= ?

110%
luff= ?
leech= ?
foot= ?

130%
luff= ?
leech= ?
foot= ?

135%
luff= ?
leech= ?
foot= ?

145%
luff= ?
leech= ?
foot= ?

155%
luff= ?
leech= ?
foot= ?

Our very own rules section shows the maximum dimensions for the main, jib, and spin.

I'm not sure where you would look for the dimensions for the smaller jibs. Although, you might try Harry Paterson at EP Sails.

http://epsails.com/index.htm

He has built the majority of the Capri-25 sails being used at WYC. I think some on this site also use him. I have no commercial affiliation with him. Although, I've stared at his products for many, many hours!

Wouldn't the luff measurement remain constant for the headsails?

Keep in mind that not all 135's (for example) have the same edge dimensions. So, there won't be any simple list. To illustrate, a 135 could be cut with a high clew/foot (such as for a roller furler) or it could have a low clew/foot that just scrapes the deck. Both being 135s they would (by definition) have the same LP (measured from clew perpendicular to the luff) but have significantly different lengths on the foot and leech.

<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">Not necessarily. The whole idea of a smaller headsail is to reduce sail area. Your biggest headsail should use the max luff length allowed, but smaller ones (eg 110%) may not necessarily go all the way.

For example - I have a 110% blade (North) that doesnt use the full luff, and it keeps the slot between the jib and main open when the main gets twisted off to depower.
