Anyone know where one might find/purchase a 6-blade paddlewheel/impeller for a Standard Horizon SL-10 knotmeter? Several years ago I bought one (should have bought 10) from pyacht.com but they no longer carry these for my old knotmeter....and Standard Horizon no longer makes meters and does not have them either.
The knotmeter works but when I put the boat on the trailer I again broke off one of the blades....I should remember to pull the transducer out BEFORE launching/retrieving but I didn't...again!!!
I hate to buy a new knotmeter because they aren't cheap and I am.
Help!! Thanks.

This is a very old post, but the company listed at the bottom of the thread might still have them. It's worth the phone call.

The Cape Dory owners association is a GREAT resource. The people are very nice and like our site, the technical assistance is solid and readily available upon request. If you peruse the archives you can learn a lot as our boats have much of the same equipment and are of the same relative age. While anyone can read the posts I believe they now charge for membership (<$30.00/yr) in order to be able to post, but I know that many "members" are not CD owners but have other "good old boats".

Okay, I got a current phone number and I bought two paddlewheels for my SL-10 knotmeter this afternoon. I called Standard Horizon in Cerritos, CA. and got their parts department fairly easily. They had 29 six-bladed paddlewheels for our knotmeter...now they have only 27.
Here follows the email I recieved (less than 24 hours). The cost of each paddlewheel was $17 and I paid about $7 for UPS shipping.

"Thank you for contacting Standard Horizon, we appreciate the opportunity to be of assistance to you.

If the paddle wheel had 6 blades the replacement part number is XUAIR0015 and if the paddle had 4 blades the part number is XUAIR0018. You can purchase one or more of the appropriate paddle wheels directly from us by contacting our parts department at (714)827-7600 ext. 6800.

If you have further questions or require any additional assistance please feel free to e-mail us at marinetech@vxstdusa.com, or you can call us toll free at (800) 767-2450."

These numbers should be put somewhere so anyone on this forum who happens to need a new paddlewheel can call them. I made a remark that I might just buy all of their stock and then be the national paddlewheel "goto" guy but decided against this plan. The lady on the phone said she would be more than happy to sell all of them to me.
Do we have a place on the website where we can find parts?
