Starting the plan with setting dates. Looks like I will be planning a June into July cruise with school vacation as the start of travel. My daughter will be working right up to the last school day which might be the last school day. 40 teachers and all of the classified have gotten their pink slips including my daughter which puts a damper on the start of the cruise. The boat will be ready and the trailer with the new cable too. I will have one axle with brakes and new tires on it too. Will get back with the date soon as I hope to connect with other 25's.

Jim, where are you thinking of going this cruise? Please feel free to include a stop over in Eugene. I can guarantee you and the crew a good meal!

We're very sorry to hear about your daughter. Just saw an item on the news about how bad the economy is in California. What this country needs is good schools and it is very sad to see the cuts to education.

Can the seaplane touch down on Fern Ridge Lake and give us a ride to the party too??

Thanks Randy for the invite. I will post the date soon as I want to set it so my daughter will be sure to go. She has to plan a couple of days right after school to organize and then we go. Paul did you move? I want to try again to get you to stop by after we launch at Capp Sante as the last time we were both on a schedule and you are the source of local knowledge.

We have a list for cruising that is made up of everything we have forgotten. This list is big but a good check off for on the road and launching. Almost all the items have a story including the set of lawn chairs that are still in the water at the end of the dock.

A Forum get together? Maybe Randy can organize one up in the Gulf Islands?

Hi Jim, we are headed North as well. It will be mid to late June for us. Lets trade cell numbers this time and see if we can hookup somewhere. There will be others from Chico sail group going as well most likely at different times. We will leave from Anacortes and probably just meander around without an agenda or goal as such. Thought about doing the Broughtons but now decided its too much and there are many other places closer in to enjoy without the hassle of pushing ourselves. Lets stay in touch.

Rita & I are interested in this cruise, we'd like to see the San Juans from the deck of our own boat. I'd particularly like to go to Sucia Island, but we're very flexible. We've only met a few people from the forum, this would be a good chance to expand that group.

Jim, are you going to publish your list? We make lists as well and are willing to share them with folks.

Yes, I will get the list soon. It's in the boat. Dave I'll call tomorrow just to touch base and yes exchange the numbers. We have before set up a schedule with the VHF so the Forum members can check in and schedule get togethers. Sounds great I hope we can pull it off. Paul is the local knowledge and maybe this time he will go along. We ran aground last time in the entrance to Capp Sante with BIG power boats coming up behind.

June 8th will be our start date from Chico. Should be able to launch by the 10th and have a slip for a night at Capp Sante to get ready with supplies. I still have to get that list so I can post it. Dave maybe this gets close enough so we can travel up together. I will also have my daughter's kayak so the load will be interesting.

We are on same sail plan as mentioned earlier due to committments here. We can't leave Lake Almanor until 6/15 or so. We will stay over with friends in Grants Pass and go on to Anacortes. We will cruise all of July and think about returning home sometime in August. If the weather is good we will not be in hurry to leave. Jim maybe somewhere in Gulf Islands we can hookup?

We are closing in on the start date and making progress. The 8th seems to be when we will start out from Chico but there could be a one or two day layover with the start. I have been working on the project list and still looking for that check off list. Had a pickup situation with a low oil reading but that was a bad sender. Took me several days of checking and replacement to get the pressure back up. Hope to make all the connections with Dave and Randy and several of the others working their way North. Blind Bay, Jones Island and Sucia are places I hope to visit with my daughter. These were places she remembers on her first cruise 32 years ago. I like to be anchored or at a dock on the weekends as places fill up. A plan to try to get together could include a VHF schedule, monitor 16 at 8:00 PM. Any suggestions?

Jim, if Eugene ends up being a layover point please do not hesitate to call. We're good for a meal too!

Looks like our trip is more likely to be in September as in past years.

Should probably start another thread with the plan? I want to be at Sucia 12 Jun for my daughter as she will have to be starting back on the 21st. I will be monitoring 16 at 8 pm most days so a place could be picked to get together. The crossing the border could be a problem for my daughter with no passport but a birth certificate and a drivers license. We might be enjoying thae San Juans the first two weeks and then I will cross for the Gulf Islands for a couple of weeks. Maple Bay and Telegraph Harbor are on my list so maybe we can make a schedule. The projects and graduations have kept me very busy but it looks like the boat and pickup will be ready.

Hope to meet up with some of the members. Where's Paul Johnson? The Captains Place is gone in Anacortes but where is the cook?

We will arrive Anacortes by 6/18 and stay a few days. After that we will go where the winds takes us. Monitoring Ch.16 @8pm sounds good. We also have Snowbird's(sweetcraft)cell number. Passports are said to be a MUST after I believe June 1st for Canada/Mexico. We will be going eventually to Desolation Sound by way of Nanaimo but will hang in SJ/Gulf Is. awhile. Hope to meet up with other C25Forum boats. We answer to Uzumati these days.

We are on our way today. Randy I will give you a call later today on our progress. Called Dave and it looks good about meeting up. Will find out about the border too.

Got a email back from Cape Sante and the Captain's Place is no more but where is the cook?

Hope we get to meet up with others somewhere out there. Will call on 16 for the 8:00 PM schedule as best I can.

We plan to be at Sucia from 7-1 to 7-5, if anyone happens to be in the area, give us a holler. Then again it's the SJ's so you never know...anyway, we hope to be there. Look forward to meeting some of you!

Just returned today after 7wks on boat in Northwest. It was the warmest and dryest summer we have ever had in these waters. It was a fantastic cruise seeing new places and visiting once again our favorite spots. We set a new record by taking boat thru SIX washes at the Hubba Bubba Car Wash in Anacortes,WA. following being in the water all this time w/out bottom paint. But it all came off with the help of my window ice scraper that I found in truck. I guess it pays to live in snow country. Sorry we did not spend more time with the "Snowbird" but we will have to get together to share sea stories.
