not so odd. Cabelas sells batteries. for smaller batteries, I've used batteryBob.com and batteryPrice.com. both have very good prices on CR123 batteries. got 6 CR123 batteries from battewryPrice.com for $2.90 ea. batteryBob was a bit more but has free shipping.
Gel and AGM must not be 'hazardous cargo'; I see that they have a special note for wet batteries. The pure sine wave inverters are certainly competetively priced, but I buy my deep cycles at Walmart and have gotten excellent performance, life, and price.
I can second BatteryBob.com, good service, decent prices, and generally free shipping. I think I might be due for a new battery for the boat & I'll be looking at these resources as well as Costco & Wallyworld.
