My boot stripe was molded in--not paint or tape... I could tell on a bright day--it was a visible translucent stripe from inside the hull. So if you remove some bottom paint (next fall), you should find it.

Thanks guys! Just for the record; I didn't paint out the boot, it was already painted over-- I probably won't find it for a couple of years I hope! I think to thoroughly do a good job on the boat I need a haul out/lift. Getting to the hard to reach areas on the trailer was no fun and I couldn't get into the nitty gritty around the keel.
