I have a whisker pole in my garage from a 1985 C25 that I sold a few years back. Will sell for the best offer I receive. Located in eastern NC for pickup; not sure about the logistics of shipping something that large.
OK, been out of town, but I finally got it down and got a good look at it.
It seems to be a Forespar large boat spinnaker kit, about 12' long and 2-12" tubing. It's in excellent condition- never used my me or the boat's previous owner, just stored in my garage. It is aluminum tubing with fittings on both sides and wire/cable controls on it.
Hopefully that clarifies things for those of you who may be interested. If you want more info, please let me know.
If it is a single piece pole with 2 wire cables, top and bottom, running end to end and a metal ring in the middle of each cable, then it is most likely a spinnaker pole. The twist or button lock refers to the locking device on a two-piece pole, where the length can be adjusted by sliding one piece inside the other piece. With a twist-lock, you set the desired length and twist each section in opposite directions to engage the locking mechanism. With a button lock, the outer pole section will have a series of holes which engage a spring-loaded button on the inner pole section.
Yes, in that case, it is a spinnaker pole. I'm afraid I didn't know the difference and just called it by what I thought it was. So, yes, it is a spinnaker pole, not whisker.

I sold my Catalina 25 and bought a C&C sailboat that is 35' long and takes a spinnaker pole that is about 12' long. If your spinnaker pole is 12' long, it would be too big for a Catalina 25, but I could probably use it on my boat, if the diameter of the pole is about 3 or 3 1/2 inches. Would you please clarify the length of the pole and the diameter of the tubing.
Now that I think of it, the Forespar pole might have a manufacturer's label on it that identifies the manufacturer's model number for the pole. If you can find such a label and tell us the model number, we can look it upon the Forespar website and that will tell us the exact dimensions.
