Hey Ed... In the thread about more light, you posted two shots that barely showed what looked like a traveler forward of the mast on the cabin top. Have you rigged a self-tacking jib?

Sorry for the delay in response. Life is hectic and I haven't spent any time on line. The answer is yes, you are looking at a traveler for a club footed jib. It really works pretty slick. I wish I could show you the set up all assembled but I took it all off three years ago and stored it away. All except the traveler that is. For a boat sailed in heavy air and tight quarters the club footed jib is wonderful. Basically the sail will tack just like your main. Once set for the wind conditions all you do is steer across the wind and both sails tack without the need to resheet. My boat's previous owner sailed in the Sacramento/Stockon delta where it is mostly narrow water ways. I sail on an inland lake where a 150 is the choice of sail 80% of the time. A club footed jib can only be 90% max or the boom will hang on the forward lowers. Maybe this winter I will set it up when the storm season starts.
