Yesterday was the rainiest day on record for Daytona Beach. The total rainfall for the last 3 days is 15 1/4 inches. Water is up to my garage door at home, threatening my personal storage facility (THANK GOD for my fantastic drainage system or I'd be under water like they are across the street), and my boat is in a precarious position because the river water is so high. We have an east wind not allowing the tide to recede much. Last night the water was over the dock not allowing my bumpers to do their job, so it was and I'm sure still is a boat scraping dock thing. Luckily it's a wood dock, soft by comparison, and with the east wind I'm not beating up the dock, just glancing off here and there. Didn't notice any damage last night. Give us a little prayer, will you? I think if we can make it through tonight things will begin to settle down a bit.

I hope things do indeed settle down over the evening. Otherwise it sounds like you'll have to get creative with the way your boat is docked. Way to keep vigilant!
Good luck. We had a lot of rain here, but not that much. Wow! Hope it works out well for you. Maybe you can toss out an anchor or two in order to keep the boat off the dock. Got any pics?
No pics DavidP, it was raining and nasty, didn't want to waterlog a camera. I did get pics of my house and street, I'll post them tomorrow. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers, they seem to have worked in the short run. We've had a 4 hour reprieve this afternoon and so the water levels are down, the boat is good. Right now the rain is staying off shore and I'm hoping it stays there and we're through the worst of it. It's been a hectic couple of days though!!!
Just east of St Augustine in the St Johns River is a large cove that is home to a number of sailboats. One is a rather nice looking (from 200 yards) catamaran. I had thought it was moored but as the river rose, the boat did not. Yesterday all that was visible was the top 2 inches and the mast. About 50 feet away from it is a boat that looks to be about a 25 foot sailboat. It has been on its side, up in the cypress for a few months. The good news is that it is now on its feet; the bad news is that it is 30 feet farther into the woods.
