When I was in the "McDonalds" (West Marine), I picked up a copy of Windcheck and Points East. I've read Windcheck for years (I live near Long Island Sound) and this month, they had a great article about my next door neighbor harbor (Milford, CT) and checked this month's Points East. It's a great mag.
By the way, we watched the SailNewport Opti race on Tuesday and Wednesday. It was supported by www.SailNewport.org. All the Opti Sailors were at Fort Adams State Park until this morning.
Then they all shipped out to make way for the 55th annual Newport Jazz Fest. For those who are interested, you can hear the Jazz Fest live on www.WFUV.org, a public radio station in NYC.
I found that the fog was not so bad, at least this week. We got zero rain, but I did find that the winds were in the 15-20 kt range most of the week on the western side of the bay (the east was 8-12 kts).
Nonetheless, we got three very fine sails around the Western Passage this week.
We're planning to return for the Newport Boat Show. Any body also planning to be here?
