Yesterday, I arrived at my boat and found that my brand new fuel tank along with the line and fittings had been stolen. So I have a new tank, 3/8" fuel line and the old fitting that attaches to the motor which has a 1/4" barb. Is it acceptable to put a reducer and a short length of 1/4" line at the end of the 3/8" line to accommodate the 1/4" barb? Not sure if it matters but the motor is an old (about a 1984) 8hp 4 stroke honda.
As I understand the situation...the new line is larger than the older line - which I assume worked fine - IMHO, having a larger diameter line feeding into the original sized diameter line should be more than fine.
