I replaced my To-Hulls with Thru Hulls over a week ago. I just tightened the seacocks and I noticed it squeezed out a little more of the 5200. Looking closely on the outside I noticed that although the 5200 has skinned over it is still soft 10 days after application. Temperature has been in the mid 60's in the day and about 40 at night. Low humidity. Is something wrong? Shouldn't the 5200 be hard by now? Thanks for any help.
It should be more than just skinned over by now but the low temps will slow its cure rate. I would put a heat source on it. Either a heat lamp or heater. 60 deg is rather a low temp and the inner seal may not cure for quite some time. I wouldn't worry. Give it some around the clock heat and see how it goes.
I had the same experience this summer but I was pushing it to go on vacation, and it was only the gudgeons on a Hobie and a Sabot, not a to-hull on a large boat. The label says it will take 7 days at 77 degrees and 55% humidity. It may take a bit longer at the cooler temp.
