The show was great, it was a beautiful crisp clear breezy fall day. They had plenty of mega-boats around, my fav was the 54 foot Friendship (all teak), as well as several nice Aelerons (28, 33 and 38), Beneteaus galore, a few J boats.
Cathy and my absolute favorite was the new Catalina 308 (32'9" LOA). It was beamy and ample in every way - the galley, the cockpit, the salon, the master bedroom and the v-berth. I guess I'm getting 5 foot-itis.
We also saw a very novel 26, called the Seaward 26RK. It can float (not sail) in 15" of water, it has an ample cabin and cockpit. I don't know how it will survive for 30 years (certain areas of the hull and cabin seemed pretty light), but it seems like an ample family racer-cruiser daysailor.
I also picked up a $42 floating, waterproof VHF radio from the Defender booth at the show. Nice gizmo, it will replace my old Raytheon unit.
