For sales, with a sad heart, is our 1980 Catalina 25 Standard Rig Sailboat. Purchased a little over 5 years ago this cruiser has held up to its Catalina reputation. Many upgrades, extensive sail inventory and numerous hours spent keeping her in tip top shape. This is a Standard Rig fixed keel. We are the second owners and previous owners kept her well maintained and commissioned. Bottom painted yearly and cleaned and inspected on haul out.
This series of Catalina’s popular cruiser line is extremely stable. This is not a swing keel with messy cables or a centerboard keel that is 2 ft deep. This is a fixed keel deep draft boat. This deep keel offers complete stability in any sea conditions and provides a stable and comfortable ride.
My wife and I, for 5 summers, spent the weekends on her moored in Three Mile Harbor in East Hampton. Boat is packed to the gills with common amenities. Since we were living on her she was well maintained and well cared for. Our first child has forced me to consider letting her go. The years we spent on her will never be forgotten.
This family cruiser easily sleeps 6 with its front berth, two bench settees, and full rear berth. My wife and I were drawn to the Catalina 25 due to the fact that unlike other boats of her size she has a full rear berth that can easily sleep two. She has a fold down dinette opposite the galley kitchen, which has a manual sink and ice chest. Manual head is located mid ship with holding tank and diverter valve. This cruiser has loads of storage space for weekend retreats or summer vacation.
Sailboat is powered by a 6HP Johnson Extra Long Shaft Engine on a steel reinforced Heavy Duty 4 spring engine mount.

Deck Organizers to Run Lines Aft Extra Winch Window Resealing Kit - $200.00 (Catalina Direct) – We thought when we purchased the boat we would need to reseal the windows. Through the years we have never pursued this as she never really seemed to leak. Kit was purchased new and is still sealed in the boat.
Plus……. Years worth of sailing lines, cleats, sail ties…. This boat is fully loaded with everything you need to set sail. No endless trips to the boat store. Everything you need or could want is on this boat!!!
I also have, and currently installed, a 2003 9.9 Mercury Long Shaft Big Foot Engine on her. Electric Start/Alternator with remote controls mounted in the cockpit, key Start with throttle and Super Heady Duty Engine Mount. I purchased the Mercury new 2 years ago from a friend who had bought it new in 2003 and never got around to using it. The engine has a total of maybe 20 hours on it at most. I am the only owner who has used it and it has been professionally maintained from the moment it was first used. This engine is powerful and really gets you through the chop. It is in perfect shape and runs great - $2500.00
Finally, if new owner is local I have a 2000lb mushroom mooring with new ball, new float, and all new lines just redone this summer. Mooring is good for at least another season or two. Registered for the 2009 season with the Town Of East Hampton.
Boat is currently in the water in Three Mile Harbor East Hampton.
I have loads of pictures through the years. Please email or call me for additional pictures. I will be more than willing to teach anyone interested in the boat how to sail and get use to her, although she is a beginners dream.
