Probably our best sail this year.

Friday:
Prepped the boat for trailing from home to Black Point Marina.
Motored to Sands Key, already crowded for the weekend. Arrived around sunset. Anchored in 7'

Saturday:
Nothing! We just chilled out. Took 'Stubby' our new Dink for a row (no outboard yet). Rowed really well, very suprised. A beer, got the AC running, and chilled in the afternoon sun.

Sunday:
Sailed to Homestead Bayfront Marina for Ice. Great sail. Dead run into homestead was too slow, would have taken hours. So we motored the last couple of miles. Then with the wind from the East we sailed through the channel from Biscayne Bay to Card Sound. JD really liked that! She dug in and balanced nicely. We sailed down to Pumpkin Key to anchor overnight.

Monday:
Wind had picked up. We reefed on raising the sails and hit 6 knots with just 70% Jib unfurled. Close hauled back through the channel (engine ready to kick in if needed) awesome sailing. Dropped the hook at Billy's point for lunch and siesta, then back under sail up to sands key. Again, great sailing, over 5 knots most of the time. Felt sooooo good!
Anchored at Sands Key, all the Columbus day boats had gone, half a dozen stragglers still at anchor.

Tuesday:
Alarm went off at 4:40, we woke up at 5:45. Weighed the hook and headed back to Black Point Marina. Alongside by 8:45am. Plan was to prep the boat for the tow home in the cool of the morning. Did pretty good. Home by 12:45 (it's only 70 miles)

Highlights:
New Dink - Stubby - First float.
Lots of eye candy and partying going on, literally thousands of boats out for the weekend.

Lowlights:
Heard from the coasties of a 'Sailboat Mast out of the water' somewhere.

Great weekend.

Air conditioning?? Hard to imagine... It's 43 with gale warnings for a big nor'easter up here.

Dave, one of my clients is currently visiting NY and he described the weather slightly differently... but it meant the same thing!

I have new tarps over the boat to protect it from the Sun!
