Just left the Keys after 2 months on a C25 with my wife. 4th coldest winter in Keys history, but still warmer than Ohio. Solar panel and Engel refrigerator/freezer made all the difference. Plan to do 3 months next year.
We stayed on the C25 all two months. We did the same last year. We spent most of the time in the marina. We do a lot of day sails and a few over night on the hook. I'm building my wife's confidence. Next year we will probably do three months. The weather this year was pretty cold and windy for Florida. You couldn't leave the marina for a week at a time. That is one of the problems in the winter. You have to follow the weather closely. I have friends that sailed down from Miami on the bay side of the Keys and were held up for days at a marina before they could leave. It took them a couple weeks to get to Marathon. You can't have a schedule. You sail when you can...
