Does anyone (especially from the hot South) have any experience with the Boat/US UltraCold 50 cooler? They claim it keeps ice for 5 days in 90 degree heat....Sure could use something like that for race weekends and fishing trips to the coast.

Derek, we have two of them. We didn't spend the big bucks at West Marine. We bought them for $19/ea. at Sam's here in Austin. They work MUCH BETTER than the standard coolers. Arlyn Stewart told me about them a while back.

As for ice lasting five da

Although we don't have one (yet) I've also seen them at Dicks Sporting Goods for around $20.

Bought one at West Marine on sale for $59 last year. On the way home, we stopped at Sams Club to complete our weekend shopping, and stacked right in the entry way was a wall of the same coolers for $19.00 each. Thank goodness W.M. has such a good return p

We used one on a 2 night cruise and had excellent luck with it. Unfortunately, we don't have a Sam's near us so I had to go for the big bucks at W.M.. I took off a handle as Mark suggested and it fits under the counter of my 250 WK.

We bought a Coleman Extreme at BJ's for around $20 and used it all summer. Went on a weeks cruise on the Chesapeake in August and had remnents of a block of ice after 5 days and it fits perfectly under our traditional interior table.
