Jim Baumgart, our former Commodore, is organizing the 2010 Nationals in his home town of San Diego.
If anyone is even remotely interested, please contact me directly. We at the San Diego All Catalina Association are very busy planning this event. Its going to be great. We'll have slips (or raftups), trailer parking, parties, live bands, lots of races, prizes, raffles, dinners, cocktails, tee shirts, great trophies, and more. I guarantee a fun-filled event with lots of new, local, friends.
In the planning stages having an idea of the "headcount" will be a great help.
I told them in all reality if we got 5 boats we'll be lucky (come on let's beat that!)
The Catalina 30 crowd is expecting 25 or so, and is planning a racing and cruising fleet.
Right now I am just planning one PHRF fleet with Catalina 25, 250, Capri 25 all racing in one combined start. If you race non-spin you will get a non-spin offset handicap. There will be 5 races, they will be random leg, and will include Bay and Ocean legs.
If we get a lot of interest, I will consider a cruising fleet where we have PHRF cruising adjustments for roller furling, dacron sails, etc.
Stay 1 week after and compete against me in the San Diego - Ensenada race! Double or nothing!
Only in San Diego can you come here, rent a 250, and compete for a National Championship.
As the summer is half over can you provide an update regarding:
1. from whom, how and how much to rent a C250, and 2. how many have signed up to race with their boat (or rented boat), and 3. if any C25 owner is seeking crew, etc.
