In about one hour we will be off to Canada for a 4 day return sail to home. Weather looks good until tuesday then its clouds and rain. Its been cold with ice forming during the night. Plenty of heat on board though. Hope there isn't any fog up there. See you all in four days.

Not sure what stage of your voyage your in but it sounds like an adventure. Finally some wind and a challenge to move the boat through.

Anxious to hear about the details of the trip, especially the way Triska performs.

Hope Triska is everything you thought she'd be.

Update from Triska: Point Roberts to Bellingham was a calm flat day. We did have a visitor for a while. A pilot whale slid up to the side of the boat an scared the skiper to daeth when it breached 2' from the port side right next to the wheel. That was the big event for the day. Point Roberts was cold and we had a heavy frost in the Am covering the entire boat. Tuesday was Bellingham to Port Townsend, just another flat calm. Dolphin on the bow in Admiralty Inlet. 1/4 mile from Point Hudson marina our stop for the night and the weather went sour. Tide change and a 50 knt wind set us back into Admiralty Inlet where we spent the next 5 hours fighting 6 to 12 foot seas and wind. Tide change at 11 pm would help us get in. The Gale was unbelevable. Im still tired from the battle. Storms forcast for the rest of the week. Laying low for a few days.

Good thing you were in your new boat. Wouldn't have wanted to tackle that kind of weather in my Cat 25. Good luck on the rest of the trip!

Doug and Ruth,

For me the pilot whales would have been awesome and made the even he gales worthwhile!
