Today I was up quite early and outside loading my truck getting ready for work. I was absolutely shocked to see a very large fireball tracing across the sky. I was amazing! If any of you were up around 6 AM it came out of the east horizon and rose high into the sky.
It probably was pure luck that the skies today were crystal clear and aided in following the ball of fire. It lasted quite a long time and I caught myself stopping the truck and looking up to see if it was still in the sky. By noon it was directly overhead and later in the day it finally faded as it sank in the west.
Amazing. It was also 77 degrees today here in NE Ohio.
I didn't see that, but once saw a fireball, with gaseous flames visibly leaping from it, in the sky northwest of Dayton, Ohio. I reported it to one of the local tv stations, but they didn't take it seriously. A day or so later I read in the newspaper that some space junk had come down somewhere in the area of Chicago, and burned up in the atmosphere. It's an impressive sight, but in my case, it only lasted a few minutes.
