Does anyone have a source for the stainless torsion springs used on the early motor mount? I'm in need of three but so far have not found a good source. I can have them custom made for $20 each or so, but at that rate, I probably should just replace the whole thing. Ed

I'm not totally sure but I don't think its rebuild-able. The springs are on the cross bar and the lift bars? are welded to the sides of them. Unless you are going to cut the welds I don't know how you plan on getting a new spring on. And no I have never seen them for sale anywhere.
If it's the original bracket - then it was made by Garhauer and they do rebuild their brackets - and may even beef it up for you. But as you say a new one may be in the same ballpark.
What type of outboard do you own? If it's a 4-stroke, you may want to consider Garlick's 71091. I found the best price at C-ME Marine.
