I removed the light fixture on the port side in the bow cabin bunk and added a WM LED light fixture, using the same wires. Then when I turned on the cabin circuit the running lights would come on also, and when I turned on the running lights the cabin lights would come on. I disconnected the light and the circuits are back to normal. I’m going to wire a line from another light fixture to the bow cabin fixture. I’d prefer a straight run on something as important as the nav lights.
Some times I can’t figure out what a previous install of wiring is doing. The wires running on the port side forward of the light fixture are Red, Blue, and Black. The fixture had Blue and black in parallel to the light fixture with the red line uninterrupted.
I like to think I understand electricity, especially DC, but this one had me laughing. I guess incandescent wired in parallel is not the same as an LED.
I’m gonna go back and look at the wiring diagram.

The technical tips section has some great pictures of electric panels, that appear to be home made. It's a pity that they are only pictures and no real instructions or where to find the parts etc, because one or two are really neat! I don't want to hijack this thread, but I would love to learn more about them. I will need to rewire my boat soon!
