Finished my modified table/galley cabinet last week. The original table was too awkward, so I sacrificed about 6" of table length for convenience and storage. Now it just folds down, folds out and stays put. The table is mounted via piano hinge to a block formed by three glued-and-screwed layers of 3/4" poplar. The block is secured to the bulkhead with three hefty 4" screws from the head side. The cabinet is fastened to the block and the bulkhead. Plates and bowls hang between 1/2" strips of poplar, resting on pegs. I haven't done much heeling since the installation, but I'm pretty sure the pegs will keep everything in place. Thanks to all who posted similar projects on the forum. I learn something every time I log on.

Looks great. After this past weekend, I was thinking of doing something very similar, any chance you could email me the pictures? And any measurements you have?
