So, you must have heard the blues music blaring from the shore as you sailed past Sandy Point. Did you stop for a while and enjoy the festival on Sunday afternoon?
My wife and I sailed over there on Saturday afternoon and got to hear Buddy Guy while we had an elegant supper at anchor!
Yes Dave i think it was somewhere north of 100 miles total. quite a weekend! and this was my first time ever sailing anything bigger than the 13' catamaran i used to own.
John, I believe we passed north by Sandy Point about 2-3 PM and near the middle of the bay, so we didnt hear anything going on. we had a long day at that point and were happy to just sail a close reach from the bridge there all the way home!
Great trip report! Looks like I need to add a few things for my future outings...a sombrero for additional sunblock protection and a blazer which will allow me access to the fine dining establishments
Great place to sail. I made the trip in the other direction earlier this spring,25kn wind from the north 40 degrees and 6 ft seas. Looks a lot nicer now. We also stayed at Solomons, What a neat place. We don't have anything like that here in Wisconsin
