IS that for a swing keel or a fin? Is height a problem? Does the boat go on a roof rack or something? Oh - wait, there are trailers that aren't for boats.

Seriously though - what is the weight and length of that it Frank? SWMBO might be interested, we've been toyin gwith getting her a home on wheels since she doesn't care much for my home on water.

EDIT - Just found my own answers - 22 feet (its in the pics) and 4800 lbs dry. A little too much for a minivan, methinks.

Gee, a trailer trailer listed for sale on a sailor's forum. What will they think of next?

Keystone makes a good rig. I have a Keystone Montana 3400RL, best selling 5th wheel in the country for the 9th year in a row. That's one reason I'm selling my C320.

Frankly, it's an inappropriate post and I don't care who posted it. Allow a post advertising a travel trailer on a sailing forum the door is open for other posts unrelated to this forum. Having been born long before any of us hit the deck the Commodore should know better.

My thought right now is not so much what the rules are regarding what should/should not be posted. The Swap meet is not inundated with postings each day that this is a huge issue regarding unrelated boat items. If it were to increase with unrelated issues, then I would possibly crack down on this stuff. What is more my concern is that we have a friend that has spent countless number of years and months conversing with others on the Forum, has also volunteered and served in a position helping the association and has no doubt been very helpful to many of us incluing myself with information he provided in his postings and...I note thru the past year/weeks has been selling a number of big ticket items. I am concerned. I hope all is okay.

Dude, lighten up. This is a group of guys sitting around the cyber-cracker barrel swapping stories. It's a group of guys with similar interests AND friendly concerns for one another. If you read the thread, there was even a member potentially interested in purchasing this item. The Association Officers keep close tabs on this forum and have dumped clearly inapropriate posts. This isn't one of those.

Oh, yeah, you didn't have to read it. The title was pretty clear.

There is a forum (International Associational Business) where complaints/disputes about proper posting can be lodged.

For now Frank's sale thread is sorta ruined. How about some nice officer comes around and deletes all but the original post and we start over.

I agree with Randy. A number of us have kind of mucked up this posting thead.

So, is anyone interested in trailer camping ? From the bunk view, you could imagine you are onboard a yacht !

A few of you are missing the point. This formum is not Craigslist. It's about sailing and not the sales of a trailer. Let one abuse the intent of this forum and others will follow. I joined the Association as a Catalina owner looking for information pertinent to what I sail.

So correct me if I'm wrong. Is this forum about sailing or about RV sales or the sales of anything any member wants to post here.. If it is the latter, I stand corrected and will accept that. If not, this ad should be deleted by an officer.

Oh, and John in Ohio with the '99 250, my name is not Dude. It's Bob. John, your definition of the intent of the forum is yours alone ...."a group of guys sitting around the cyber-cracker barrel swapping stories" is really a bastardization of what I've seen here. Come on. Now really. You don't think that do you? The forum is more technical advice and questions than it is about swapping stories.

I can't believe we're spending time on a topic that should have never come up.

With respect, It's called 'Swap Meet'. Not 'Sailboat Stuff Only Swap Meet', just 'Swap Meet' and I couldn't find anything in the bylaws or constitution that sets any boundaries or rules. Sell your soul if you want to.

There is a "guideline" that applies here:

<b>"Discussion of items in these threads should be directly related to the item for sale... Let's also do our best not to detract from what they have for sale."</b>

Complaints about forum policies and abuses belong in the International Association Business forum--not here. The guideline above has been blatantly abused.

Hmm, sorry for the "issue" guys. At an inland lake the camping grounds are usually integral to the sailing venue, this is a sailor's bedroom, not a land yacht. Many sailors at my lake have a camper like mine and walk across the parking lot to the slips. A racer appreciates offloading "all the crap" and leaving the boat for sailing. Others appreciate the AC, head, and privacy. This is not intended to violate the spirit of the sailors's swap meet. Consider it a "cruise-Air" with benefits.

Bob, it is OK that you are so pleased with the forum that you don't want to see it screwed up. This is an amazing place with amazing people and I am sure you will continue the tradition of contributing for the benefit of others.
