Why on earth would someone look at that and think "yep, I'd go sailing in that"? One look at the keel bolts and attachments, and I'd have been off to go view my next boat. The PO must have been extremely glad to see this guy come along.

The owner is a newbie - I feel a little bad for him. I hope he didn't pay more than the scrap value of the keel.

That wheel stuff is over-rated. The wheel on the beneteau 10r is one of the few boats under 36ft where I actually prefer a wheel. Aesthitically they look out of place on the 25..(and on my O'day)

Rather than invest time and money in fixing up that clunker he would be better off getting a job at Burger Dougle and saving up a few thousand to buy a boat with a sound hull.

Maybe he could sell it for a Viking funereal, you know: dead guy on board, set on fire, sailing out to sea.
