Welcome! Dave, I imagine someone in your area will chime in but, don't hesitate to bring your questions to the forum. There are a lot of friendly, knowledgable folks here. Feel free to search the archives for particular topics of interest. You might consider joining the association, it'll be the best $22 you'll ever spend on your boat. Plus, you'll be able to buy a really cool burgee to fly from your spreaders.

Dave, I'm in Yorktown. My boat is currently out off the water ... working on restoring it. (jbriede@cox.net)

Dave,

Welcome! I have learned a lot about sailing my boat from this Forum, and you will, too. Make sure to add to your signature one of the short-hand descriptions of your boat to help folks know what you're talking about.

Our boats are actually on the same body of water, only mine is about 150 miles north of yours up the Chesapeake Bay. It would be fun to sail down to your marina and help you with your boat, but that's unlikely to happen.
