There used to be some pretty nice plastic fuel cans available - until the spill proof models were introduced. I really don't care for the hard plastic spouts.
Does anyone have a favorite spill proof brand? I'm going to use it to refill the 2 HP 2-stroke dinghy motor. Looking to use a 1 gallon can.
I'm with you OJ. I rarely spill with the old flexible tubes. I always spill using the "new and improved" version. They're (the new) are probably OK for filling automotive tanks but try to fill the lawnmower with one.
Even Practical Sailor couldn't avoid dribbling with the new cans with the vent integrated into the spout to prevent over-fill spills. The local big box hardware outlets do hace small containers available that appear to be manageable
We picked up a pretty good flexible spout at the auto parts place...maybe was a pep boys - not sure...it screws on, does not have any integrated vent tube, so you do need to pause and allow pressure to balance, also does not have the spring loaded tube to force you to pressure the spout against the tank...but does have a spring locking thumb button to kill the flow. We are rather satisfied w/ it, and NEVER spill a drop...I can try for a photo next weekend...
