I am considering buying a 1977 c-25 with a fin keel to part out. The hull is shot but it has some good rigging and what appeared to be a good trailer. I'm clear in Columbus oh. If it's something that you would be interested in.
Sure thing. If you look for my thread "looked at a 1977..." you will see a few pics. I would just put a link into this reply but am not sure how since I am on the cell phone. I will let you know if it all comes to fruition.

I don't think I'm interested in getting into the marine parts business...lol <hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
Yeah a few have asked, but nobody has seemed to express any real interest in it. Obviously there is still a pretty big boat on it at the moment. Do you have a time line or a general idea of when you're looking to get ahold of one?
I have snapped a few photos of it. When I pulled it home not all the lighting worked, but for such a big ticket item as this I'll make sure all the lighting is 100% up to snuff and if not I'll strip it all off and replace it all with completely sealed LED lights and all new wiring. Note that this trailer doesn't have brakes on it.
So as you can tell it's not a brand new trailer, but it's in pretty decent shape. All the tires have good tread on them as well.
thanks for the photos- I have some time to wait for you to part it out and junk it- provided we don't get a hurricane. No brakes is ok- It would be better for me to get it after October. Do you have a price in mind yet? I guess with photos we may now get some estimates from the members.... Do you know the weight rating? Hitch size?

I don't have a weight rating, perhaps someone could chime in on how I could determine the weight rating. The ball size is the larger one 2 5/8th I think. I will have to look again. As far as price I was thinking in the $1500 range. Also once unloaded like I said I will make sure all the wiring is 100% and will likely add a few cool extras to it. I will also get something to cover the wood supports. I will make sure it's ready to use. For such a big ticket item I would be willing to drive up to 7 hours in your direction to meet you to help offset your drive to get it.
With those padded inboard bunks, it sorta looks like a powerboat trailer that was modified to carry the sailboat. Without brakes, it would work as a boatyard trailer. Axles are probably rated at 3,500 lbs each. With good rubber, I'd guess somewhere in the $1,000-$1,500 range would be reasonable. For a road trailer, adding brakes will cost the buyer around $550-$600 for parts alone. To do float-on haul-outs, I'd want to redo the winch stand, keeping the bow support but moving the winch higher up. Not sure what that would cost. The hitch ball would be 2 5/16".
Agreed, the trailer is indeed a modified powerboat trailer. The modification look fairly well thought out to me. Not only do the welds look good, but as do the design of the supports in regards to strength. For the interested party it appears the lack of brakes is fine. The ball is indeed 2 5/16" and I'm willing to throw in the ball as part of the deal. If any potential buyer would like some modifications done to the trailer I can quote that out as well. I have a good friend whose welding skills I trust with my life. Not kidding, as I have had him do suspension modifications for some of my cars. Anyway while it might be more difficult to change the angle of the winch stand I can easily have an extention welded to the front side of it to put the winch higher and still retain that bow support. I trust my friends welding and fabrication skills implicitly and his rates are 100% reasonable. I would work to keep costs reasonable and that of course is something to be negotiated with the final buyer. I'd suspect it would pretty much just be a hunk of box tubing, a can of primer, can of paint, and an hour or two of work.

If interested here is a link to a sample of his fabrication skills...a car he's been building for a few years now. I should show up in my garage to be wired soon. http://www.motorgeek.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=10039 Sorry about the non boat related link...I'm sure there are some motorheads floating around here too.
still looking for a trailer- especially one in the SE (I am near Pensacola, FL) or possibly between here and a property I have in Dayton, Ohio. Thanks.
