I have purchased an '89 C25 SR/WK in NJ, and need to get it back to MI before the snow flies. Since I want to store the boat inside, I want to buy a used trailer vs. renting one or shipping. Please contact me if you know of an available trailer. I will also consider a swing keel version if it can be converted to wing. Thanks in advance for any help.

I might be buying a boat and trailer to part out soon. I am in Columbus, OH so you could easily pass through here on the way to NJ. The trailer is for a fin keel but I think it's pretty adjustable. What price range are you looking at?
Time is so short that I've decided to have a trailer built (takes two weeks). Notice that my C22 #778 is gone from my post signature -- it helped pay for the new trailer!
Oh too bad. I might have been interested in the C22 had I known it was for sale. We could have worked out some trade arrangement. Are you willing to say how much the build is going to cost?

Just wanted to complete the story regarding my new boat and trailer. As I mentioned above, a couple of months ago I found a beautiful '89 C25 SR/WK in NJ, drove out and bought it. Since then we struggled to find a used trailer to bring it home, and finally had a new one built in Long Island, NY (prices on both boat and trailer more than made up for the distance). We just got back to MI about three weeks ago with the boat and trailer (left on a Friday, got back the following Wednesday morning). The trailer turned out beautiful, after some refitting in NY. Then, in NJ, after watching the marina run our new boat into a pier and into another boat while loading it on the sling (bow fitting and pulpit tweaked, prop bent, gelcoat slightly dinged up -- I had to actually walk away for a bit), and running the sling into the new trailer (they had a replacement trailer light on hand), we found that with the bunks adjusted all the way down there was still 4 inches of air below the keel. We added a chunk of 4"x6", strapped her down, lashed the mast into our handmade supports, and got away from the east coast as fast as we could with our 11 foot high, 3 1/2 ton load -- right into the big storm that was crossing the country. Our '99 F150 4x4 handled the high winds, monsoon rain and mountains surprisingly well, so I stayed on the road until we made it home -- 8 o'clock in the morning! Since then, I've managed to rebuild the trailer, getting the bow pulpit down to around ten feet high (important with a ten foot pole barn door). Buying on the internet opens the door to some amazing deals, but it can bring a lot of frustration with it. I'm convinced that it takes a sailor to have the patience.
Dubbinchris: I forgot to answer your question about the cost of the new trailer -- $4,000.00, and it got compliments all the way home (and the boat, too). I have some good pics that I'd include here if I knew how....and I'll wait on the bow pulpit until I work out things with the marina. GaryB: I have recorded the damages well (have pictures just before and just after the time they happened) and will again be in contact with the marina. The damages are more aggravating than serious. One more example of why this country is in the condition it's in -- everyone's entitled, but fewer and fewer know or care how to do anything well (I'll keep politics out of it here).

Mike, I would had offered you a place to stay on L.I. if I'd known. Motels etc are a little pricey around here and we have a spare bedroom if you needed a place to overnight. Anyway who built the trailer?
