As you know this is a public website and we have had problems in the past with spammers. I can filter junk e-mail, but I can't filter junk snail mail. I hope you understand.

Sorry, there is no online version of the survey. That would have been a good idea though, but writing a survey response program was a bit beyond my ability. I'm using a spreadsheet to calculate results.
The survey was mailed using the Mainsheet magazine mailing list. One of the questions was how often do you use the association website? There were several replies "I didn't know there was a website". It's interesting how many people read the Mainsheet and don't use the website. There are also people who use the website and don't read the Mainsheet.
So far, there have been some pretty good ideas on how to improve the association.
Should the need ever arise again....I believe there are a few survey applications available on line. Two years ago the municipal commission I led did several public surveys. I don't recall the name of the one we used but it was free to use, efficient, provided all the summary statistics, and required no programming what-so-ever. All we did was upload our questions and responses in text format and it accepted a variety of responses (multiple choice, T/F, fill-in-the-blank, ...). I recall the only limitation was that the survey could not be posted online for more than 30 days. If interested, I could track down the details.
But as indicated, the reason for the mail out was the number of members that don't appear to visit the site that often.
I have built extensive online surveys for some pretty major companies, trust me, the build it online option is the only way to go. However they do require visiting the website
You can also do this in Google docs. I understand that there are folks who don't visit the site who would need to fill out a paper form, but for those of us who do, a simple online survey can be created that you can easily export to a spreadsheet. Or simply keep the spreadsheet in Google docs and give us all access to it. This is how we're now keeping track of our test passes where I work.
I would be willing to help with this in the future.
Russ - I have an online survey company. I'd be glad to set up the survey and run it for free for the organization. Contact me offline if you're interested (either with this survey or a future one for the organization.)
