With the exception of my old NS spin, I'm running an all-EP suite: Main, #1, #2. (Well, I also have an old NS blade but that hasnt seen the light of day in a few years. I was an old NS wh0re back in the day).
I've run my 2008 #1 pretty hard (flown in conditions where even the #2 would have been borderline), and it still trims excellently. I've punched a spreader thru the #1 twice (operator error, NOT a fault of the sail by any means), and it's still a fantastic sail. I will be replacing the NS spin with an EP this off-season, as well as getting a proper repair on the genny.
Results: We've taken 1st place in the PHRF-A fleet for both the Spring and Summer series every season from 2008 (when I converted to EP) thru this year's Spring series. We missed the Summer series this year due to hull repairs.
If you're racing a Capri 25, EP is really THE answer. Harry has stayed in touch with the big fleet (WYC) and is continually making improvements in not just sail technology, but the Capri 25 sails as well. I can't say enough good things about Harry/EP, and as long as I'm racing the CP25 she'll be flying EP sails.
For those interested, here is the info from Harry:
<i>It is the time of year to get our Capri 25 Fleet sail order together. This year we have to do it a little bit earlier because Dimension Sailcloth has offered to hold this year’s prices and extend us an extra Fall Discount only until October 31st. So to get this pricing I need to have all orders for D4 sails in to me by October 30th. Any orders after that will cost 5% to 10% more. For any non D4 sails (spinnakers or Dacron Mains) I need those orders before we break for Thanksgiving.
We are making two small changes this year in the genoas, the leech sections will be just very slightly straighter and we are going to build them with small denier yarns and more yarn passes. The end result is smaller “windows” between the yarns which makes them a little bit more expensive but will improve their durability.
From people I have talked to I am sure we will be at the 25% discount level again this year. Please call me with any questions or ideas you would like to see incorporated.
