I had Snapit!(mfg who makes the drink holders here in TX) make outside/inside companionway trim pieces and the interior threshold trim for my CP25. They said they would sell these 5 pieces for $55 plus shipping. The pieces fit well although I had to use some caulking to seal small cracks where teal bended with warped bulkhead and HDPE did not bend as much. The companion trim is made of 2 pieces attached by 3 stainless screws. Quality is good and I have no more sanding or oiling.
I could not figure out how to post photos of installation but Wayzata Yacht Club may have my msg and photos posted later this week.
Their phone is 903 365 9181 which is normally a recording. Web site is also option.
Is there a reason you didn't have the threshold changed to plastic? Thats the piece I need repaired the most. Mine has a nice big split all the way across.
A fair question. Because the previous owner had epoxied? or something similar, the outside threshold was too hard to break out. I still may do it. Snapit! ( the ! is at end of their name) would copy one should you give them a patern. I am hot ready to do it yet. Part of the package is the inside threshold. Outer is much bigger. The photos show parts before they were screwed down and sealed. Phone number and name for web sit should get anyone interested in contact with them. Photo also shows C-clamp holding trim to bulkhead. Suggest this to hold piece while drilling holes to mount outside trim.
Would like to do this also. I'm out of town for a week, so I'll look at my boat next week to see if I can easily remove the threshold. It's split but otherwise intact. Do they need the physical piece or would a paper template work? Tried to google them but no luck.
They claim they can work from a good drawing but the undercut and slant of the outside threshold would suggest a sample part is better. When I submitted parts they could see the curves needed better. Wear on edges had to be compensated for.
Perhaps the search using Snapit! Marine would help. Just tried it and found it ok. Suggest that the attaching screws be put in from the bottom side. They may also have some way of putting some cross-checks on top to make it not as slippery?
Just talking about that last night. If we don't get the boat pulled and home during the holidays, I'll go down and take the piece off. Really want to get it home. Santa was nice to me this year. Self tailing winches and a Tacktick. And I need to fix a minor hole in the rail.
Sounds good. Dang, you must of been a saint this year in order for Santa to be so generous. My crew keeps singing the virtues of self-tailing winches but I think they are just a bunch of whiners. Have a Merry Christmas
Just spoke with Snap It. I'm sending the threshold piece tomorrow. If anybody else wants to order the parts now would be the time, so that they can make them all at once. Phone 903-965-9181
Did you ever get your new parts back? I talked to them, after several attempts, and asked to be included on the order. Haven't heard back from them and they won't answer their phone
